Natural Gas Filter Drier (Dryer) for Instruments | New Offering

by | on | in Natural Gas Products | 1 Comment

The IMAC natural gas filter drier or dryer offers filtration for high pressure instruments. The dryers protect expensive equipment by removing contaminants before reaching the instruments. IMAC offers different filter dryer switching assemblies to filter, dehydrate and regulate gas. The filters are fully compatible with Welker Filter dryers and also interchangeable with Becker Dryers with a kit.

Natural Gas Filter Dryer

IMAC Instrument Filter Dryers are designed to condition gas for more effective and reliable service. They are made in the United States. The filter dryers provide maximum filtration and drying, for supply gas to control instrumentation, catalytic heaters and other applications which require clean dry gas. Instrument Filter Dryers help reduce the Joule-Thomson effect and prevent costly freeze-ups in cold environments. They are available in different media (desiccants) for a variety of applications to remove solids, moisture, aerosols, odorants and H2S. The Instrument Filter Dryer is designed for easy installation, trouble-free maintenance, and maximum scrubbing. The removal of unwanted contaminants helps eliminate costly down-time and increase performance and longevity for equipment downstream.

The desiccant dryer is available with a variety of desiccants including silica gel, molecular sieve and activated charcoal. The dryers are available in various assemblies to accommodate the applications:

  • Pressure cuts (regulators)
  • Gas conditioning (catalytic heaters)
  • Automatic filter switching
  • Drain valve

IMAC offers switching-assemblies which mounts two filters in parallel with instrument pressure regulators. The objective, of course, is to increase the time between filter changes. By setting one of the regulators on a filter 20 PSI higher than the other, only one filter is used at a time. When the in-service filter becomes saturated, hydrates pass through, the filter freezes and the second filter becomes operational. Valves on these assemblies facilitate easy filter changeouts without disrupting service.

Other accessories are also available, such as drip pots, relief valves, pressure gauges, bypasses, valves. Optional equipment includes external and internal bypass manifold and inline moisture indicators.

Welker and Becker Precision Equipment Compatible

The IMAC filters are interchangeable with Welker Filter Dryers, and Becker Filters also by using the available kits from IMAC.

Common Applications for Filter Dryers:

  • Pneumatic Controls
  • Regulation Skids / Stations
  • Valve Actuators
  • Dumps
  • Measurement Skids / Stations
  • Pigging Stations
  • Moisture Analyzer Cabinets
  • Catalytic Heaters
  • Line Heaters
  • Thermo-Electric Generators (TEGs)
  • Control Valves
  • Automated Drips
  • Methanol Injection Systems
