Vehicle Methane Detector Benefits

Fast and Efficient Gas Survey

The sampling suction rail with eight sample intakes is positioned beneath the vehicle's front bumper where gas can be detected from the ground's surface. The gas is analyzed in the measuring chamber, and when methane is detected, it is reported and recorded on the onboard computer screen. Having a response time of less than 1.5 seconds1 helps pinpoint the area of the leak quickly. All data automatically saves during the survey.

State-of-the-art laser technology

Laser spectroscopy permits total methane selectivity with accuracy not impacted by the presence of hydrocarbons, exhaust gases, water vapor, chemicals, or other pollutants. The system has a 1-ppm sensitivity and can survey at speeds up to 25 MPH.

User-friendly interface

The INSPECTRA VSR is fully automated and accessible using a laptop computer, and the NGS software is very easy-to-use with an intuitive interface using icons, audio, and visual prompts.

Enhanced safety

There is no need for transporting combustible gas (hydrogen) in your vehicle. Only 50 PPM of methane (CH4) to perform operating tests and nitrogen (N2) is needed for flushing the sampling circuit. The system requires low daily maintenance.

1 Response time depends on the model of the vehicle and the installation configuration.
