The Rhino HIT Kit provides the proper materials needed to document a dig before an excavation. Why risk costly litigation from hitting a line when a simple photograph and using the HIT Kit can keep you out of court?
The HIT Kit is used to record damage to buried facilities including gas pipelines, fiber cables, electrical lines and more. It comes in a convenient carrying case and provides consistent photographic means for reporting underground utility damage and near misses. By using the HIT Kit the excavator is in compliance with the CGA Excavation Best Practice 5-11.*
HIT Kit options include:
Dry Erase Board Kit (includes 3” x 9” dry erase board printed with date, location and time fields, pen, eraser, velcro strip and Ziploc bag)
* CGA Excavation Best Practice CGA- 5-11 If locate markings are adequately documented through the use of photographs, video tape, or sketches before excavation work begins, it will be easier to resolve disputes if an underground facility is damaged due to improper marking, failure to mark, or markings that have been moved, removed, or covered. It is important for excavators and locators to document the location of markings before excavation work begins. The primary purpose of this best practice is to avoid unnecessary litigation and expensive legal fees for all parties involved.
EZ Pipeline Padding has been providing pipeline padding solutions for nearly 20 years.
Why pad a pipeline?
Conventional pipelines are fabricated from metal which corrodes. Padding a pipeline is a key damage prevention method to overcoming pipeline corrosion.
During a pipeline installation, a conventional trench is dug and a pipeline is lay. A padder “pads” the pipeline by returning sifted or screened dirt which is void of rocks or abrasive material. The pipe padder removes rocks and harmful debris which can damage a line and lead to corrosion and rupture. A padder gathers fill, screens it and returns the padding material to a trench quickly and efficiently while burying a pipeline.
With a padder, when installing pipelines in rocky areas the contractor can save on the expense of hauling in foreign material to bury the pipeline.
Why choose the EZ Pipeline Padding?
Rather than investing in a conventional padder, consider the EZ Pipeline Padder which attaches to other heavy duty equipment most contractors already own, like a bulldozer. This saves considerably, not only in equipment costs but the EZ Pipeline Padder has fewer moving parts than traditional padders, thereby reduces maintenance cost as well.

Ensure pipeline safety and integrity while excavating
Safety Wrap helps prevent punctures and the scarring of pipe which is commonly associated with the impact of excavation equipment. By applying the patented polyurethane material around the pipe before excavating, the material not only increases the visibility of the pipeline, but it also protects the exposed section from impact by the heavy equipment.
Copperhead Industries has developed an intelligent alternative to copper tracer wire. Copperhead Reinforced Tracer Wire is a cost-effective composite with superior performance to traditional pure copper tracer wire, and SnakePit Magnetized Tracer Boxes represent the next generation in tracer box technology. SoloShot EHS is directional drilling tracer wire made to pull through the first time, every time!
